Is the mongoose Subject 2011 a good bmx bike?

I bought it about 2 weeks ago and all my mates are saying it's okay. I've had a go on my other mates bike, one of them has got a "we the people 2011" and the rest have got older models of the Mongoose, but theirs are lighter than mine and seem a bit better... is there anything i could do to mine to lighten it up a bit or something?
